Your 24/7 Solution for Composting Coffee Grounds and More
At Scraps, we’re always looking for ways to make composting accessible for everyone—and we’re excited to introduce the Scraps x HUCK Drop-off Program! This new initiative, launched in partnership with Huck, offers a convenient & flexible option for those who want to compost but don’t have access to curbside service – and who often find themselves at Huck locations for their coffee fix, their remote work sessions, or otherwise!
What Is the Scraps x HUCK Drop-off Program?
Like our other drop-off programs, this partnership gives members 24/7 access to designated drop-off bins, located at a number of partner Huck locations. As a member, you can compost your food scraps, CMA-approved compostable products, and more. This program is a great option for individuals who:
- Don’t have composting services available in their area (yet!).
- Live in multi-family units or suburban neighborhoods.
- Produce small quantities of compostable waste – perhaps not enough to want a pickup service – but still want to make an environmental impact.
HUCK + Scraps: A Growing Partnership
Huck first partnered with Scraps in March 2020, when Scraps began collecting their spent coffee grounds and other compostables at their flagship Pecos location. Since then, Huck has expanded to compost with us at all six of their shops. Over the years, Huck has become a composting champion, committing to using only certified compostable products, and diverting thousands of pounds of organic material from landfills annually.
Composting Coffee Grounds: Small Changes, Big Impact
Did you know that each Huck location composts around 8,000 pounds of organic material every year? That’s a lot of coffee grounds! Composting coffee grounds helps enrich soil with nitrogen, reduces the amount of organic waste sent to landfills, and contributes to a healthier planet. It’s a simple, powerful way to make a difference—one cup of coffee at a time. (We also capture compostable coffee cups, lids, stirrers, napkins, and more – we’re in awe of Huck’s enduring commitment to using nearly 100% compostable products in their shops!)
